Carsen Edwards Went Full Supernova For Purdue And Somehow It Wasn’t Enough  (Deadspin)

An ecstatic Elite Eight duel between Virginia and Purdue on Saturday night ended in Boilermaker heartbreak. Despite the superhuman efforts of junior guard Carsen Edwards, who tried with all his might to drag Purdue to the Final Four, the Cavaliers came out with an improbable 80-75 victory.

It was a joy to watch these guys, especially during the tournament. I really wish that final sequence (in regulation and OT) could have gone differently, but if that is the last game for Carsen, you couldn’t ask for anything more. They left it all in the court

  1. @pilch Totally agree. They’re my hometown team, but I did not regreat staying up late (with early Church commitments Sunday) to watch that. Kudos to Virginia’s very classy-looking program. I’ll be really conflicted if they end up against Michigan State.
